Intro

BoddySpargo. Now there’s a name you can get behind. Distinct. Compelling. Creative. All things you want in your copy. All things you want in a last name, too, according to my parents. And, while we’ll never truly understand their motivations behind this Frankenstein of a family name, I choose to believe it’s because they both understood the power of good branding.

I guess it runs in the family.

My CV

Until July of 2022, I was the Production & Copy Director at Pop-Dot, a full-service marketing agency in Madison, Wisconsin. While copywriting was my main area of focus at the Dot, it certainly wasn’t my only responsibility. Here are a handful of things you could have found me doing day-to-day: copywriting, concepting, vision-casting, strategizing, wireframing, UX designing, producing, editing, creative directing, presenting, and DJ-ing.

Ultimately, though, I was responsible for leading the majority of the agency’s messaging-related projects—delivering them on-time, on-brief, and above client’s expectations.

Before the Dot, I was sharpening my pencil at the Milwaukee Portfolio School, an intensive six-week course designed to get you agency-ready at ludicrous speed.

Rewind the tape a bit further and you’d find me fresh out of college, dipping my toes into the agency world as a traffic intern at Hiebing—another full-service shop in Madison. It was there I discovered that I had a knack for copywriting, and it was there I decided to double-down, and dive head-first into the whacky world of advertising.

Cowabunga, dudes.

“Hey, we have a client coming in on Friday, can you clean up the language a little bit?”

— Kate Ewings, Pop-Dot Senior Director
